when i was little i lived right of the end of pope airfield in fort bragg and holy crap 4th of july was insane. jets and helis and big ass airplanes , jets doing low passes shook every inch of the trailer park that used to be there but it would be so cool to get a fly by from a jet and we would be just running around playing outside.

I tried my whole early adulthood to get to the military to fly. Ever since I saw the movie broken arrow I wanted to be a pilot. After years of trying everything, I never made it in military. Wish I had another life to live to try again.

When those aircraft were originally being ferried from GD Fort Worth they stopped at the 421st AMU at Hill and I think they were six maybe or eight maybe possibly in one bundle that was all getting launched on weekend duty ferried over to be to Israel ......if you watch original Bird of Prey video it actually says Royal Iranian Air Force at the end in the credits and we obviously know they didn't make it to Iran

Thanks to Air Force and you for allowing me to live vicariously through your flights. My dad was a private pilot and I grew up loving flight and airplanes. In 1983, I traveled to Pensacola to become a Naval Aviator! I failed the flight physical which at the time was a great disappointment to me. I liked what you said about following your passion unless someone tells you no. I was told no by the Navy, but at least I tried. Had I not tried (my mom wasn't in favor because she thought it too dangerous), I would have spent my whole life wondering. Additional medical testing later on, showed that the Flight surgeons were incorrect in their medical evaluation so I was able to obtain my private pilots license...my airplane doesn't remotely come close to the performance of an F16 and the cost of flying does come out of my pocket...but I am ever grateful every time I fly, to enjoy the beauty of flight!😂
